Intake Systems

All vehicles need an intake system.  This is the collection of parts in your vehicle that get the air, filter it and deliver it to your internal combustion engine that cannot function without it.  There are different parts that go in this system.  They are all important.  You have the air filter, the intake tube, the throttle body spacer and even more parts.  For the purposes of this discussion, we will concentrate on the throttle body spacer. 

What is that?

A throttle body spacer is basically a valve.  This valve is a part of the intake system and it has a specific function as such.  That function is to regulate the amount of air (airflow) that goes into an engine.  There is usually at least one but possibly two of these valves per engine.  The airflow that they modulate goes into an open space in the manifold.  How effective a throttle body spacer is depends on the type and size of the spacer as well as the application.
