Airaid Throttle Body Spacer

Airaid has been around since the late 1990s.  They began by manufacturing intakes for light trucks and SUVs.  In 2002 they introduced their Premium Filters to their product line and business exploded.  They have become a leader in the industry and now their products are sought out not only for gas engines, but for diesel engines too.  All of their products are made right here in the U. S. A.

Intake Systems

All vehicles need an intake system.  This is the collection of parts in your vehicle that get the air, filter it and deliver it to your internal combustion engine that cannot function without it.  There are different parts that go in this system.  They are all important.  You have the air filter, the intake tube, the throttle body spacer and even more parts.  For the purposes of this discussion, we will concentrate on the throttle body spacer.

What is that?

A throttle body spacer is basically a valve.  This valve is a part of the intake system and it has a specific function as such.  That function is to regulate the amount of air (airflow) that goes into an engine.  There is usually at least one but possibly two of these valves per engine.  The airflow that they modulate goes into an open space in the manifold.  How effective a throttle body spacer is depends on the type and size of the spacer as well as the application.

Airaid Throttle Body Spacer

You may have seen or used these before.  The Airaid throttle body spacers are marketed as PowerAid Spacers.  These are a great way to increase your torque.  It will also increase your fuel efficiency if these are used.  The thing about these spacers is that there is a helix bore design.  This makes the air coming in spin.  As the air spins, it increases in velocity which enables you to get an increased mixture of air and fuel all the way into the combustion chamber.  The Airaid throttle body spacer is made from aluminum, aircraft grade aluminum to be exact.  They are sold in kits that contain everything you need to install this in your vehicle.  This is a relatively easy installation and can be completed in less than an hour.

You can also rest assured that your investment is protected because Airaid offers you a lifetime “No Hassle” warranty with each of their throttle body spacers.

Airaid Cold Air Intake

A Bit about Airaid

This is for those of you who may have not heard of Airaid.  I like to give you a little bit of background on the company simply because if I am reading about something I am unfamiliar with, I like to know more of the story than what is usually told.

Airaid has been around since 1997.  The Airaid Cold Air Intake systems were originally created for only light trucks and sport utility vehicles.  Now, they are manufactured for both gas and diesel engines.

If you like to buy parts, products and accessories that were made in the U. S. A. then do not hesitate to buy Airaid cold air intake products as they are all made right here.

Intake Systems

Some of you might be reading this and are novices when it comes to vehicles.  This part is for you.  Basically, what an air intake system does is to get cool air to your internal combustion engine.  Not only do they get the air to the parts of the engine that need it, they also filter the air before it gets there.  An intake system is called a system for a reason.  It is more than just one part and if any of the parts involved decide to take a vacation, then the quality of your ride not to mention the life of your engine may be greatly affected.

When you replace your stock air intake system with an Airaid Cold Air Intake system, you not only improve the life of your engine and your ride quality, you can also actually increase your horsepower.  This is accomplished with physics basically.  See, when air is taken into your engine it is generally warmer air.  The oxygen molecules are less dense than in cold air.  When you allow the cold air in, the oxygen molecules are tighter packed offering your engine the ability for more power which gives you the end result of added horsepower!  See?  Science is cooler than you thought it was isn’t it?

Anyway, not only does the Airaid Cold Air Intake system offer you all of what we just discussed, you can also get these installed with the least amount of trouble.  They are easy to purchase and not only that, but they also come with a lifetime “No Hassle” warranty!  Honestly, have you ever spent better money to protect the investment that is your vehicle?

Airaid Filters

When you think about cars what comes to mind first?  Is it the year, make and model?  Maybe it’s the style, paint job or sound system.  Maybe you are into power and the engine is your main interest.  Either way, when you think about vehicles, chances are that you do not think about the air filter first…or even fifth.  Do you know something?  That is a shame and I will tell you why.

Air filters are the last line of defense for your engine.  Now, you might think that is a bit silly, but let’s be real ok?  Your engine is more than likely an internal combustion engine.  Internal combustion engines need not only fuel, but also air to work correctly.  The more air they have the more power that you get.  Ok, now let’s assume that you run your vehicle without an air filter.  What happens?  It might run ok for a bit, but then all of the dirt and contaminants that are in the air start to gum up your engine.  You will lose power, your engine might even start sticking and if you do not correct the problem you will kill your engine.

All of that can be avoided with an air filter.  Air filters are extremely inexpensive and can save your vehicle.  They are a small part of the entire system that is called your air intake system.  What they do is to filter all of the contaminants and dirt out of the air before the air gets to your engine.  Now that we have talked about what can happen without an air filter, you should be aware that the same thing can happen when you never change your air filter.  See, when it gets dirty, the air can’t pass through it and then your engine doesn’t get enough air and you will lose power.

Airaid Filters

Not all air filters are created the same.  A lot of the air filters that you see at any parts house or big box store are made from paper.  Yes, this will do the basic job, but you will still get those contaminants that pass right through the paper.  These have to be replaced often.  Airaid filters are made with cotton gauze.  They are designed to not only catch more contaminants, but to last longer while doing it.  Also, you can clean them rather than replacing them all the time.  This is a small step to take to protect the life of your engine…so, what are you waiting for?

Airaid Intake

Airaid was founded in 1997 and since then they have become a force to be reckoned with in the field of vehicle intake systems.  They design, engineer and even produce all of their intake systems, parts and accessories right here in the U. S. A.  In 2002, they added their Premium Filters to their product line and became the leader in air management.  Their products have applications in both gas and diesel engines.

Intake

What is an intake?  Basically it is a collection of parts working together to provide air to the engine allowing it to function properly.  You see, your engine is an internal combustion engine and it needs both fuel and air to operate.  The intake system not only provides a way for the necessary air to get to your engine, but it also filters out the contaminants along the way.  If your engine got no air, it would not work.  If your engine got nasty, dirty air it will start to gum up and eventually quit working.

Airaid Intake

The Airaid Intake system can also be called the complete power package.  It offers you the ability to add more torque at the same time as you gain more horsepower.  The way that they do this is by utilizing cold air.  You see, it is pure physics.  Air has oxygen molecules.  Those oxygen molecules are what the engine needs for performance.  Now, take your basic intake system.  It utilizes the air around it and gets it to the engine, right?  Ok.  Now think about molecular density.  You know that with hot air, things expand and with cold air things contract.  It’s the same basic principle with the molecules and the air that they are in.  In hot air, the molecules have more room to run around in while in cold air they are more densely packed.

Airaid intake systems use cold air.  This all comes down to the fact that with an Airaid intake, your engine gets more oxygen molecules that equal more power.  That power is translated to your engine by offering a higher torque and an increase in horsepower.  Also, the filters used are made differently so as to catch more of the dirt and contaminants meaning that not only is your engine more powerful, it will also last you longer because of the purity of the air it gets.

Airaid intakes offer you all of this and then go farther by offering a lifetime “No Hassle” warranty along with it.
